- Tap on their contact card and look for ‘Share My Location’ at the bottom.
- Choose an option to share for one hour, until the end of the day, or indefinitely.

- Follow this route if you’re on your computer.
- Sign into iCloud.com and click on ‘Find iPhone.’
- From there, you can select your device and share your location directly.

Google Maps:
- If you have Google Maps, open it and tap the blue dot (your location).
- Select ‘Share your location’ and choose who to share with and how long.
Make sure you’ve shared your location availability in Settings > Privacy > Location Services. Also, double-check that background app refresh is on for the concerned apps. This can sometimes be a hidden hiccup.
Each method has its pros and cons. Find My iPhone or Find My Friends ensures your contact is looped into the Apple ecosystem, while Google Maps works seamlessly across different OS. Plus, if both you and your friend use Google Maps regularly, it can often update the shared location faster due to its frequent usage and optimization for such tasks.

PS: A method not covered here is the one via the Maps app: Open Apple Maps, tap on the info icon (i), and from there, you can share your location as well.
